Race 1 28th March 2010 Waiatarua Reserve, Grand Drive, Remuera 9am Start
Race 2 18th April 2010 Harbourview Peoples Park, Te Atatu Road, Te Atatu Peninsula 9am Start
Race 3 9th May 2010 Bucklands Beach, Pakuranga - NEW COURSE 9am Start
Race 4 30th May 2010 Milford Reserve, Craig Road, Milford 9am Start
Race 5 20th June 2010 Western Springs Park, Stadium Road, Western Springs 9am Start
Race 6 11th July 2010 Takapuna Beach, The Strand, Takapuna 8am Start

WHAT IS IT?

RUN Auckland Series is a 6 race FUN RUN & WALK series at a variety of scenic and exciting locations throughout Auckland. 
The distances for each race will be 5km & 10km except for the last race which also includes a half marathon (21km). 

On offer will be the RUN Auckland Corporate Cup, Family Cup, Schools Cup & NEW Running Club Cup which will be presented to the leading Company, Family, School and Running Club at the completion of the series. 

In addition Individuals will be able to compete for Age Group Series Trophies in 10 year Age Brackets. There will also be Overall Series Winners.

  • Active women seeking a more challenging series to further develop their fitness.
  • The general public (first timers) and corporates to initiate active lifestyles & achieve their fitness goals.
  • Teenagers and students in pursuit of fun, exciting and positive events.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

  • The New Zealand Sport and Activity Survey 1997-2001 found that, Aucklanders activity levels are declining and that they are lower than the National average across all groups. 
  • Only 34% of Auckland adults complete 30 minutes of exercise five times per week.
  • One in five adults have been told by a doctor that they have high blood pressure.
  • One in six adults have been told that they have high cholesterol.
  • Over 50% of adults in New Zealand have gained over 10kg since they were 18.
